The Holy Spirit Missionaries (Spiritans), which is a Catholic Religious Missionary Congregation of Brothers and Priests, has been working in Uganda since 1980 mainly in primary evangelization among the poor and the marginalized people. Under the Uganda Spiritan Foundation, which was created in 2008, one of the places they have expanded to is Moroto Diocese, Karamoja Sub region in the North- Eastern part of Uganda, where they took up the mission in 2010. They are two confreres working there, Fr. Nicholas Kerebba CSSp and Fr. Tarcisio Muhereza CSSp.
In Karamoja, the Uganda Foundation is involved mainly in Education, Pastoral Ministry and Development. The Spiritans are in charge of St. Daniel Comboni Polytechnic School, Naoi, which was entrusted to them by the Comboni Missionaries. They work in a parish called St. Kizito, Naoi which is located in North Eastern Uganda in Moroto Diocese, Karamoja Sub region, a semi desert place.
The Uganda Spiritan Foundation works among Naoi Mission, Moroto District, found in a very remote area of Nothern Uganda, Karamoja, with a population of about 75 000 people.
