Spiritan House is located at Kyebando in the outskirts of Kampala district, the capital city of Uganda. It’s seated on almost an acre. It was bought 20 years ago for East African Foundation. And when the postulancy programme opened in Uganda with 10 postulants, Kyebando Spiritan house was used as a formation house. Fr. John Assey was the director of the postulants assisted by Fr. Peter Mulyanga. Due to lack of space for expansion at Kyebando, 10.24 hectares of land were bought at Jjanda-Namugongo and the postulancy was built and transferred there in 2001. The Uganda Foundation was created on the 2nd October 2008 since then the Superior; Fr. Joseph Kiganda CSSp has been residing at the Postulancy Centre Namugongo.
In 2011, the new Superior Fr. Gerard M. Nnamunga CSSp is presently residing at Kyebando, according to the directives of the 2011 Uganda Foundation Chapter. The Chapter said that the Superior of the Foundation should not reside in a Formation House. This change has necessitated the renovation of Spiritan House, Kyebando and creation of offices. Already there is a room which was partitioned into offices. It is now where the administration of the Foundation takes place. It was built as a family house and it is very old, there is an urgent need to construct a new structure.
